IVHQ International Volunteer

Peggy, our Global Green Ambassador was able to take part in this important mission to better understand the Green Lion Conservation’s turtle rescue mission at Nusa Penida Island, Bali.

Green Lion’s Project Mission:

Green Lion Turtle Conservation focuses on sea turtles, community environmental awareness and school environmental education. Preserve and raise awareness of the endangered sea turtles. Rescued sea turtles are released back into the ocean after undergoing successful rehabilitation at the Green Lion Sanctuary.

Healthy oceans need sea turtles. Sea turtles are a “key Stone Species”. Which means that they are a n important part of their environment and influences the other species around them. If a “key Stone Species” is removed from the habitat, the natural order can be disrupted, which can highly impact other wildlife.
